Our assistant director for Beauty and the Beast is a wonderful surprise! For the spring semester, 2019, Mr. Gorski has a new student teacher--Ms. Mary Sass! She will also be working with Mr. Carreras in the technical theatre classes as well. She comes to us from Appalachian State University! We are so excited to have Ms. Sass as a part of our team this semester. Please be sure to stop by the auditorium and trailer three to give her a big Green Hope Theatre Welcome! "Hello Green Hope! My name is Mary Sass and I am thrilled to announce that I will be student teaching here at Green Hope High School in the Spring. I will be graduating in 2019 from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a concentration in Education and a minor in Teacher Education. While focusing in theatre education, I have also worked in acting, directing, playwriting, costume and makeup designing, stage management, arts management, and as a promoter for the arts. I have performed in several productions at Appalachian State University, ranging from D.W. Gregory’s Radium Girlsto Moisés Kaufman’s The Laramie Project. I am passionate about the arts, sharing knowledge, drinking coffee, and spreading positivity! I look forward to meeting my fellow thespians, working with Mr. Gorski, and learning from Green Hope’s theatre program!”

Starting the week of October 15, you can go online at www.greenhopefinearts.org and purchase your tickets for Noises Off! The performances are November 8, 9, & 10 at 7:00 PM. The show runs approximately two and half hours and is rated pg-13 due to language and adult situations.
ALSO, ON NOVEMBER 10!
We are having a special dinner Fringe Fundraiser in our commons area prior to the final performance of Noises Off! We are proud to host professional chef, Ms. Zacki Murphy, as she dazzles us with an exceptional Mediterranean Menu! The event for the dinner starts at 5:30 and the cost is $50 per person--this includes both your dinner and a premium seat ticket to the final show of Noises Off! The decor theme of the dinner is 1980's. We will also feature Mr. Lutter's rock-band club and, for a small fee, they will play live music from the era! Though not required, we encourage you to dress up in 1980's style clothing to join in the fun! It's sure to be an electric, tubular, and radical night of fun and delicious food! You can purchase tickets starting next week for the dinner theatre at www.greenhopefinearts.org.

ABOUT ZACKI MURPHY
OUR CELEBRITY CHEF!
Zacki Murphy is a native of Hillsborough, NC and a graduate of the University of North Carolina. She sampled many world cuisines on location as a highly successful Ford model.
Zacki was the first woman to take her beloved Lexington pork BBQ to the streets of NYC. Her passion for fresh regional food was rekindled as the owner of Zacki's BBQ, and as a food stylist for Martha Stewart in the 90's. Returning to NC in 2004, Zacki opened Zacki's Culinary Creations to offer her distinguished private chef services and creative food presentations to the community. The company, under her direction, has served church socials, family reunions, small weddings, and milestone anniversary events. Its clients range from individuals who are too busy to cook to companies who desire creative dining options for business meetings and corporate retreats.
All meals feature fresh local produce, seasonal flowers, vegetables from her own "Secret Garden," or local farmers. Many of her signature recipes and food stylings have been featured in best-selling cookbooks, national food magazines and on network television. Originality and variety are always essential ingredients in Zacki's Culinary Creations.
As a culinary instructor, Zacki goes into homes and teaches "Cook In Your Nook" private classes. Often guests participate and can enjoy a wide choice of cuisines from "Tapas Delight Night" to "The French Connection." Recently, Humana has contracted Zacki to be a spokesperson of healthy foods, her monthly presentations reflect various subject matters, such as diabetes or low cholesterol.

We are happy to announce that our Assistant Director for “Noises Off!” Is Liv Wilson and our Stage Manager is Elizabeth Ellerman. Congratulations and thank you to all those that applied!
Auditions for the fall production, Noises Off!, will be Wednesday, September 5, from 2:30-4:30 PM in the auditorium. Here is what you need to know and prepare:
1. Please memorize and prepare a 1-minute comedic monologue from a published play, screenplay, or other. If you cannot find and prepare a monologue, be ready to tell us a funny story that is 1-minute in length. We are looking for actors with high energy, "big" personalities, and outstanding facial expressions.
2. Please dress professionally for auditions (it's like a job interview).
3. When you come to the auditorium, please sign in with the stage manager and pick up the application as well as the expectations & ethics contract for you to fill out and sign.
4. When it is your turn to go, you will perform your piece in front of the directors panel. After you are finished, you are free to leave.
5. We will post a callbacks list on this website and on remind 101 for Thursday, September 6.
6. Cast list will be posted online and on remind 101 on Friday, September 7.
REMEMBER: YOU ARE AUDITIONING AS SOON AS YOU ENTER THE AUDITORIUM. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL AND PROFESSIONAL.
Who is eligible to audition?
Anyone in the school is eligible to audition, however, if you have already committed to the following activities, it will not be possible to have you in this production:
1. fall sports
2. marching band
3. NC Honors Chorus
4. Outside-of-school commitments that require you to leave campus before 5:00
Rehearsals will be everyday, except some Thursdays, from 2:30-5:00.
