ABOUT ZACKI MURPHY
OUR CELEBRITY CHEF!
Zacki Murphy is a native of Hillsborough, NC and a graduate of the University of North Carolina. She sampled many world cuisines on location as a highly successful Ford model.
Zacki was the first woman to take her beloved Lexington pork BBQ to the streets of NYC. Her passion for fresh regional food was rekindled as the owner of Zacki's BBQ, and as a food stylist for Martha Stewart in the 90's. Returning to NC in 2004, Zacki opened Zacki's Culinary Creations to offer her distinguished private chef services and creative food presentations to the community. The company, under her direction, has served church socials, family reunions, small weddings, and milestone anniversary events. Its clients range from individuals who are too busy to cook to companies who desire creative dining options for business meetings and corporate retreats.
All meals feature fresh local produce, seasonal flowers, vegetables from her own "Secret Garden," or local farmers. Many of her signature recipes and food stylings have been featured in best-selling cookbooks, national food magazines and on network television. Originality and variety are always essential ingredients in Zacki's Culinary Creations.
As a culinary instructor, Zacki goes into homes and teaches "Cook In Your Nook" private classes. Often guests participate and can enjoy a wide choice of cuisines from "Tapas Delight Night" to "The French Connection." Recently, Humana has contracted Zacki to be a spokesperson of healthy foods, her monthly presentations reflect various subject matters, such as diabetes or low cholesterol.
In 2015, Zacki's Culinary Creations won the Southern Seasons BBQ Festival Coleslaw Recipe Contest, you can see the post here. Also, she has received one of the "Best of 2016" Top Private Chef Awards from Thumbtack, a website dedicated to connecting the community with local professionals.
